The City of Yellowknife is interested in entering a contract with a qualified organization(s) for funding a Veterans Homelessness Program for veterans experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness. The purpose of the Veteran Homelessness Program (VHP) is to prevent and reduce Veteran homelessness in Canada. 

The program delivers contribution funding through two streams:

1. The Services and Support Stream focuses on the delivery of rent supplements and wrap-around services (such as counselling and treatment for substance use) to Veterans experiencing or at imminent risk of homelessness.
2. The Capacity Building Stream focuses on research and improved data collection on Veteran homelessness, as well as increasing the capacity of organizations to deliver tailored initiatives to address the needs of Veterans experiencing or at imminent risk of homelessness.
