After serving the community for over 30 years, the City of Yellowknife (City) has made the decision to replace its existing Ruth Inch Memorial Pool (RIMP) and replace it with a new modernized Aquatic Centre to meet its current and future demands.The City is planning to build a new Aquatic Centre containing a competition-style 25 m pool with 8 lanes, a 25 m leisure pool with 3 lanes, therapy pool, splash pad, steam room, and an amusement park waterslide  using the design-build procurement methodology. The City needs to establish a list of prequalified design-build proponents (Prequalified Propenents) to be invited to submit proposals through the competitive Request for Proposal (RFP) process for the design and construction of the new Aquatic Centre.

The design-build RFP is expected to be issued to the Prequalified Proponents in July 2021. The completion of the Aquatic Centre is anticipated to be in the summer of 2024.
